WORDS Gallery directed and produced the installation at the renewal open of “adidas Originals Flagship Store Harajuku”. The store was renewed for the release of new series “adidas Orignals by Parley”.

“adidas Originals by Parley” is a collaborative collection by adidas Originals and Parley for the Oceans, an organization to protect the marine environment. The collection features materials that contain more than 50% of “Parley Ocean Plastic,” made from upcycling plastic waste collected on beaches and coastal cummunities. Recycled polyester is also used for other parts.

The work was created with graphic artist Hikaru Matsubara who participated in WORDS Gallery Exhibition #03 “Plastic Ocean. We used the plastic wastes on the artwork which WORDS Gallery collected from daily cleanups on the beach.
